Statement Regarding the Antisemitic Hate Crime in Concord on August 23, 2025

Concord Against Antisemitism

Concord Against Antisemitism released the following statement following the August 23, 2025, antisemitic hate crime at the private residence of a Concord family:

The desecration of the Schwartz family’s peaceful memorial honoring the more than 1,200 Israelis murdered by Hamas and the 250 hostages abducted by the terrorist organization on October 7, 2023, was an act of antisemitism, plain and simple. Concord Against Antisemitism stands in solidarity with them.

This was not an act of free speech or a passive political statement: it was trespassing on private property, vandalism, and a deliberate attempt to intimidate and instill fear in a family that chose to honor innocent lives lost, and the entirety of the Jewish community. Recorded by the perpetrator as a trophy to share. This is a threat to us all, Jews and non-Jews alike.

We call for this individual to be identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, because when one family is attacked in this way, the entire community is harmed.

Any attempt to justify this in the context of world events is acceptance, and this cannot be accepted, justified, or met with silence.

The entire Concord community must stand up and stand united with the Jewish community to condemn this act of antisemitic hate, with no equivocation, for now you see what Jews are experiencing, locally and across the United States.
